The First Week of Work

So, I am finally working at a "real" job. Sort of. This has been absolutely the longest week EVER (not really, I tend to hyperbolize...). But really, I thought it should be Friday all week.

After the very first day of work, I was still feeling pretty sick and I had to stay at work an hour longer than I'd expected, though it was not difficult--we just had a newsletter to put together and some other computer work. So not bad, just long. Tuesday, we went to a really interesting meeting about treatment of asthma through reflexology and how your outlook affects how you feel about a situation, negatively or positively. It was quite helpful, and I realized that I needed to start seeing my job more positively or I would be miserable. The rest of the day was quite nice.

We (and by we I mean me and the other girl from AmeriCorps, her name is Cecilia) went to several asthma trainings--the basics of the disease, a meeting with school committees on asthma. It was interesting--I definitely feel like I got a taste of what I'll be doing, and on Friday, we trained on the machines to measure air quality at the schools. I also had a doctor's appointment in the morning since I'm still feeling sick. He said he thinks I am having allergies...I'm not so sure, but now I'm taking Allegra and have a corticosteroid inhaler to prevent asthmatic symptoms....So hopefully he's right and I'll start to feel much better very soon. So....that's all for now. I can't remember if I already said I've signed up for the GRE in November, so that's exciting....Yes, and I want people to come visit me sooon!!

Love to all---
