The summer has FLOWN by...I cannot believe that as much of it is over as is (does that makes sense??). But I have managed to keep quite busy. I've been working as a Research Assistant for the North Carolina Health Project, which is a project through the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Research at UNC. That has ended up meaning that I sit in the doctor's office in Siler City, NC for 9 hours a day and approach all of the patients and try and get them to fill out our survey. I've had some interesting interactions, and I've gotten to speak in Spanish a whole lot, so that's all good. This is my last week in Siler City, then I got to Durham for a week and after that I spend 2 weeks in Aulander, NC, which is a small town in NE NC. So the schedule's changed a bit, which basically costs me two more weeks in Chapel Hill.
I am still unsure about what exactly I'll be doing next year in New York City. The mystery remains. If anyone has any suggestions about places to live in NYC, let me know.
Last weekend I went to Atlanta to look at a car for Alex, but unfortunately we found that after a 6 hour drive, renting a car, and getting a speeding ticket, the car had been sold the night before, and hour after he'd called. So it was a frustrating day. But life goes on, and I'm back to work.
Until soon--
Shannon
